Help Preserve History in Southern New Jersey
Originally known as the Hunter-Lawrence House, the location came under the complete stewardship of the Gloucester County Historical Society on November 10, 1924. The historical society has been operating since 1903, and we have maintained this 18-room museum for almost a century.
Through the dedication of our leadership, members, and volunteers, we have served as a center of knowledge and research for those interested in American history with a focus on Southern New Jersey. Help us continue our legacy for generations to come.
Benefits of Donating to Our Organization
As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, we are supported primarily by donations and membership. The Qualified Charitable Distribution Rule allows individuals 70 1/2 or older to donate up to $100K from their IRAs completely tax-free. Also, the CARES Act allows individuals to donate $300 to a charity and utilize it as an above–average deduction on their taxes. Regardless of how they file, this will allow anyone to reduce their gross income by $300.
