«Sybil Tatum Sampler Chart, 1788

Sybil Tatum (1781-1821) was born and died in Woodbury, NJ, daughter of John Tatum and Elizabeth Cooper.  Sybil married Joseph Ogden at Woodbury Friends Meeting on June 12, 1801.  . This sampler is listed in American Samplers by Bolton and Coe, Girlhood Embroidery by Betty Ring and Quaker School Girl Samplers from Ackworth by Carol Humphrey.  It was donated to the Society in 1937 by her great-granddaughter.  The sampler's measurements are 26-1/4 inches by 26-1/2 inches.
