The Diary of Job Whitall of Gloucester County, New Jersey 1775-1779 transcribed by Florence DeHuff Friel, 1992, 200 pp. including index, $10.00
This Revolutionary War diary of a Gloucester County Quaker farmer is a unique account of every day life in the midst of opposing armies. The largest battle of the war, south of Trenton, was the Battle of Red Bank, fought on Whitall family land. Hundreds of names make this a good resource for genealogists.
